About the role 

We are looking for a Manager, Environmental Planning to join the Asset Performance and Delivery team at this exciting time. This role will play a pivotal role in the businesses by providing  leadership in the development and implementation of environmental planning strategies. You will lead a team of professionals to deliver our environmental initiatives and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. 

Reporting to the General Manager - Asset Performance and Delivery, the Manager, Environmental Planning will be responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s environmental policy, strategy and annual plan including environmental objectives and targets, R&D programs and manage environmental licences.  The position is integral for maintaining and improving our high environmental standards in line with our ISO14001 accreditation.

The water delivery and drainage services we provide have helped create a diverse and highly productive agricultural region known as the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA). The MIA is home to over 50,000 people with most jobs tied inextricably to the water we supply to farms and industry. What you'll bring 

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, planning, or a related field
  • 5-10 years of environmental experience in water infrastructure
  • Extensive experience & knowledge in environmental legislation, policies, and regulations 
  • Strong skills in managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring
  • Demonstrated ability in positive communication, accountability & team leadership 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft software applications 
  • Current ‘C’ class motor vehicle licence
  • Live in or be willing to relocate to the Griffith Area (or its surrounds).
  • A ‘can do’ attitude focused on delivering outcomes
  • Commitment to a strong values culture and a preparedness to ‘walk the talk’.
